Not To Self: Enjoy the Journey
Friday, November 5, 2010
NOTE: Do not take yourself or life too seriously. (I know. Easier said than done.) Life is a journey. We will travel on good roads and not-so-good roads and have sunny days and stormy days.
When we are traveling in our car to see a friend or to a vacation spot and it starts to rain -- or even snow, we may be disappointed. However, in the end, we accept it for what it is -- bad weather.
We either continue on through the storm, pull over to the side of the road, or turn around and go back home.
And, so it is with life's journey. Let's just see life's journey for what it is - good times and 'seemingly' bad times. It's that simple. How we deal with the journey depends on our perspective.
When you hit a stormy area, continue on through the storm if you can. However, do not try to fight bad weather. It is okay to pull over to the side of the road. Protect your loved ones and yourself. Do the best you can with what you have.
After you have done all you know to do, have a healthy snack and sing some songs with your family and friends while waiting for the storm to let up. The best ideas and solutions come when we are in a relaxed and a joyful state.
Do not let bad weather ruin your vacation or your life journey.
SELF: Got it. Thanks.
