Heat Press Paper

What is Heat Press Paper?

Here are a few types you might come across:

  • Teflon Pressing Sheet: This is specifically designed for use with heat presses. It protects the garment from direct contact with the heat press surface, preventing any potential sticking or damage from heat or pressure. It's often transparent or translucent, allowing you to see through it to align designs properly.

  • Butcher Paper: Sometimes, people use brown butcher paper, which is similar to what you might be thinking of with brown wrapping paper. However, this isn't ideal for high-heat applications as it can sometimes leave residues or not provide the same level of protection as specialized materials.

  • Silicone Release Paper: Another option, often used in more professional settings, which provides a non-stick surface.

  • Parchment Paper: While not as effective as Teflon sheets, some crafters use parchment paper in a pinch, though it's not designed for the high temperatures of a heat press and might not last as long.

A Teflon pressing sheet is your best bet if you're looking for the best results, especially for detailed work or when applying heat transfers. These sheets are made to withstand high temperatures without melting or leaving residues, ensuring your garments are protected during pressing.
